Beauty

I went to two stores, The Body Shop and a drugstore called CVS pharmacy. I wanted to get some more "high end" things and a few cheaper products. Let's get started!

Obviously this product is from The Body Shop. It is the mango sugar body scrub. Lately, I have been really into body scrubs and this is the 2nd one I've bought this week, the first one was from Bath & Bodyworks. The Body Shop had lots of different scents for this product, but mango was the most appealing to me. After I used this, my skin felt so much softer and cleaner. I could already tell it was going to do good things for my skin.

These are two of the hand creams that The Body Shop has. The pink grapefruit (left) is my favorite scent, but I still really like the shea (right). I currently have the shea hand cream on and I don't feel like my hands are oily at all. This hand cream really sinks into your skin, unlike some other brands.

This moringa perfume is the last product from this haul for The Body Shop :(. Don't worry, this store will definitely come back to this blog multiple times in the future. When I first smelt this scent, I didn't know what to think. It's not too sweet, but at the same time it isn't too fruity. I'm not a huge fan of perfumes, but I truly see myself finishing up this bottle and having to get another one in a year or so.

Now for the drugstore portion of the haul! I have recently been loving CVS pharmacy. They have great makeup products and the store is always having sales! This is the Acai facial purifying clay mask. I've gotten the sample sizes in the past, but when I went back today to get more, I saw this and couldn't resist. My skin feels so much softer and cleaner after I've used one of these on my face. This mask comes off very easily and is great for when you have the girlfriends over (I'd know because I've done these every time they come over). All you have to do is leave the mask on for 30 mins or so, and it will take care of your skin!

This is the Milani mint crush nail polish. Milani has a huge assortment of nail polishes, but this color really stood out to me. It's a really light blue with a slight tint of green. I have not worn it yet, but I've read reviews about Milani's nail polishes and nothing but good comments have been said about them.

This is the Revlon color burst matte balm. This color is called unapologetic and it really makes your lips stand out more. I think this would be great for a night out with friends or even just to dinner with your boyfriend. This color definitely helps show the shape of your lips.

This Milani eyeshadow is in the color "bella ivory". Because I have green eyes, I think that a lighter color will help them stand out, and this one definitely does that! This eyeshadow is very easy to put on, so if you are a newbie to makeup like this, then I suggest this to start you off.

So I was a little late getting this #1 lip balm, as I just bought it today! I put it on as soon as I bought it and it was really hydrated my lips. I'm not always fond of lip balms like these because I am afraid that the stick will come out of the packaging, but I was willing to try this one out considering I heard so many good things about it!

I've heard so many good things about the Loreal true match concealer, so I finally gave it a shot today! I tried it on after I got it and I literally couldn't tell I had it on at all. I've always been afraid about these things, but boy was I wrong about this one! I have had it for a day and I can already tell that I will be getting a ton of these in the future!

I hope everyone liked my first haul! I had so much fun going out to buy all of this stuff and trying it out. Hopefully this gave you all some new ideas about what to buy next time you go out for more makeup!

Top 5 Nail Polishes

I absolutely love painting my fingernails and toenails, considering I hate my toenails. The one part I struggle with when painting my nails is that mine grow so fast! Everyone always tells me "Oh, Carly! You're nails are so long! I love them to death!". That's not the case for me, I feel as if I'm cutting my nails every other day. Anyways, because I'm constantly repainting my nails, I have have quite a selection of nail polishes and these are the top 5 I am continuously using.

Everyone has to have an Essie nail polish in their collection, it's inevitable. Out of the million color options this brand gives you, this is my favorite. It's called "fashion playground". Over this summer I found out how great this mint color goes with a tan. Wearing with nail polish color with compliment almost any dress color and truly complete the look. This is by far my favorite color of the top 5.

O.P.I is another classic brand for a nail polish addict. This color is called "Orange you glad it's summer?". This orange is also great for the summer and also goes great in the fall when you are wearing festive clothing. This brand has thick and heavy duty, so it is great for those people who tend to pick at their nail polish, me being one of them.

This nail polish I got with a mini collection by O.P.I from Sephora. There were two other colors in this pack, but this light pink is my favorite by far! It's most definitely come in handy during the winter and spring, as it goes with everything. This bottle is small, so it i very easy to take on trips if you want to paint your nails while you are away.

This is a new brand I am trying out and I've worn it multiple times so far. I will have to admit though, there is a down side to this particular brand. I've found that if you leave it on too long, especially on your toenails, it temporarily stains them. If you plan on painting your toenails a lighter color after wearing this, I suggest you pick out another color. Besides that, I think all of the colors in this brand are really pretty and look great on your nails. This color is called "sunkissed melon".

This is another small bottle of nail polish, so it is also a great one for on-the-go. This is Avon's red color and it looks especially great in the winter to go with your festive wear. One thing I have noticed with this color is that it goes much better with lighter skin, so this is one I definitely suggest for those pale people like me in the winter. This brand also stays on really well and it takes a lot to get it off.

So these are my top 5 nail polishes and I feel confident enough about these to suggest all of them to you all! I love having different brands and colors in my collection, as it gives me more of a variety. I hope all of you like these colors and if some of you have tried these, leave a comment and tell me what you thought of them!

Best Book I've Ever Read!

I'm much of a reader, so it takes A LOT to get me interested in a book. Just when John Green was becoming a popular author, I chose to read his book, Paper Towns. This book is about a girl, Margo, who runs away from home, leaving clues behind for her best friend, Quentin, to find. Throughout the entire book Quentin is trying to find her. I'm not one who likes to spoil endings, so hopefully you will go read this book yourself and find out how it ends.

Now, plenty of people are probably reading this post thinking "geez, everyone knows The Fault in our Stars is John Green's best book". I'm not really a fan of books that make me cry and I still liked that book, but Paper Towns can relate to more people. Not everyone has lost someone to cancer, but I know for a fact that people in this world are constantly misimagined. The main character, Margo, is looked at like a mystery. No one knows who she really is and sometimes she gets annoyed by that. This book shows how people are much more complex than we seem to be. There's a reason we act the way we do and there's a reason we do the things we do. Paper Towns is about girls, or even people in general, and how they are consistently misimagined and that everyone is their own person.

Life's Little Secrets

Plenty of people in the world suffer from things we don't know about. A couple days ago, the world lost an amazing person, Robin Williams, to depression.

I thought I would post this because depression is one of the many things overlooked about life. I will admit, I don't suffer from depression, but I have friends that do. This blog post is all about how to deal with depression and ways to help those who suffer from it.

The people I know who suffer from it are like this because genetics. It runs in their family, so they knew one day that they were going to be the same way. They have their good days and their bad days. One way to tell that it's not one of their best days is if they put you down. They aren't doing it on purpose, that's just how their body is reacting. All they are trying to do is make themselves feel better. Don't take it personally, just shrug it off and go on with your day. If the person wants to have time alone, let them. If they ever want to talk about anything, give them the chance to.

Tips on dealing with depression:

1. Get 8 hours of sleep each night.
- your mood suffers from having too much or too little sleep.

2. Do things that make you enjoy doing.
- if you are doing something enjoy, you're happy and you are taking your mind off the negative things in life.

3. Keep your stress in check.
- figure out all of the things that stress you out and make a plan to avoid them as best as you can.

Hope this post helped people out and it gave you good tips on how to deal with everything!

What's In My Makeup Bag?

I've decided to have my 1st post to be about what's in my makeup bag. The main reason I chose this to start me off on the blog was so everyone interested in this blog would know what I'm basing my blog posts of off. Let's get started!

I recently bought this vera bradley makeup bag because I had started using a bigger variety of makeup and thought that this was much more stylish than a plain makeup bag you would find in a store at the mall. This pattern is called "provencal". This can be purchased at the online vera bradley store.

These are the makeup brushes I use on a daily basis. They are a brand called ecotools, as they are made from bamboo. The brushes are used for (left to right) angled eyeliner, lash and brow groomer, eye shading, concealer, and blush. These were bought at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

This is the Maybelline fit me, shine-free foundation. I use this daily and I absolutely love it! It lasts all day long for me and looks fantastic in photos. It can be found on the Maybelline website or in a local drugstore.

This covergirl eyeshadow works great! I use it for nights out and when I want to change up my everyday makeup look. The colors I use the most are the far left (purple) and the far right (off white). This mini palette can be found on the covergirl website or in a local drugstore. I definitely recommend buying this!

I have gone through plenty of different kinds of mascaras and these are the two that I have decided to stick with. The Loreal voluminous hydrofuge (left) makes my eyelashes so much longer and the Maybelline rocket volum' express hydrofuge (right) makes my eyelashes a lot thicker! These two are great to together! They can be bought on the brands online store and in local drugstores.

I love eos products and these are the two I have really found that work well. Both of the hand lotion and lip balm have lasted me several months and I keep buying more as soon as I run out. I have loved every smell they come in and can't wait to find out if they will be coming out with more. Again, these can be found in local stores or online.

I bought this a few years ago, so I don't know if it is still being sold. If anyone can get ahold of it, I suggest you buy it! I love the smell and haven't gotten tired of it yet. This is the Bath & Body Works forever red perfume. It comes in a small bottle like this and lasts you forever.

I've been trying out a lot of new lip glosses and lipsticks lately and these have been my favorites. The one to the far left is Rimmel show off lip lacquer. I will admit it comes out thick, but it is very easy to spread onto your lips. The middle lipstick is Revlon ColorStay ultimate suede. This is my favorite of the bunch, as I use it everyday no matter what the occasion is. The one to the far right is the Clinique chubby stick. I've had this for a while now and am still obsessed with it. These all can be found in drugstores and online.

This is the Loreal true match super-blendable blush. This shade goes really well with the foundation I mentioned earlier. It's not too bright, but at the same time you can also tell it is there. This can be found in local drugstores.

This Maybelline unstoppable eyeliner is the only eyeliner I have ever used and I am hooked on it. I have recently been looking at different brands though, but I can't find anything as good as it. You can find this at Target and other drugstores.

Whenever I know I will be spending the day outside, I put this on immediately in the morning. This is the Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer. This is by far one of my favorite moisturizers and I take it with me on all of my trips.

I hope everyone loved this post and found it helpful! I've always enjoyed finding out what others keep in their makeup bag. Hope this inspired you to try different kinds of makeup!
